Apart from in a case of general wear and tear most roof damage comes from an act of God ie. bad weather. If you happen to fall victim to a natural disaster just what will a roof replacement cost you if damage is widespread and roofers are in demand?

After a natural disaster there are people willing to travel from all over the country trying to make a quick buck.  They see someone in distress and know that they are desperate to get their homes fixed as soon as possible and are quite happy to take advantage of the situation to line their own pockets.

A roofing price will be different from contractor to contractor.  Some will say that they can get materials for cheaper than the other guy or that they will be able to charge less for labor.  When you are getting roof repairs done you need to be diligent about finding out everything you can about the company or individual so you don't get taken for a ride.  Ask them if they are licensed and bonded.  Make sure to actually see it not just take their word for it. 

Also ask for references and call them.  If they are a reliable company they should be able to provide you with numbers to people that you can call.  When you call the people ask if they did the work in the time they quoted and for the amount they quoted. 

Ask if the quality of their work was satisfactory and how has it held up.  You do not want to have your roof cave in on you in a month because you tried to be cheap on the Roof Replacement Cost.  When you discuss the conversations with the contractors ask them if they felt that they could include everything in the contact. 

Make sure that they give you a detailed Roof Replacement Cost.  Have them list every bit of material that they are going to be using, how much it costs, and how long they think it will take. 

Find out how much they are going to charge for labor and how many people they have working for them.  By making sure to cover all of your bases you will be able to feel safe knowing you are not being taken advantage of.
